The Timeless Plate Project: Healthy Recipes for Families

Hi there, and welcome! I’m Jenna. I am a Registered Dietitian, new mom, and lifelong foodie. I have a passion for creating delicious, healthy meals that work for my family and fit into real life. I’m so excited to start this adventure with you, where we’ll explore how to make cooking at home a fun, rewarding experience.

Before we dive into recipes, tips, and meal ideas, I wanted to share a little about myself and what inspired me to start The Timeless Plate Project. My journey with food has been anything but simple, but it’s shaped who I am today—both personally and professionally.


My Journey with a Gluten Free Diet

When I was in the 8th grade, I made the choice to go Gluten Free. I was experiencing stomach aches and brain fog daily and decided to remove gluten from my diet to see if it would help. At the time, gluten-free foods were a brand-new concept. As a young girl, I didn’t understand what “gluten-free” meant. I also didn’t know how to fully embrace it.

My mom was my biggest ally. She took on the challenge of researching, grocery shopping, and helping me navigate a diet that felt incredibly limiting at first. Even with her support, I struggled with feelings of isolation and embarrassment. Birthday parties and sleepovers were particularly tough—I’d show up with a brown bagged lunch while everyone else enjoyed pizza and cake; two foods that are not naturally gluten free. I didn’t know how to explain my diet to curious classmates, other than “certain foods hurt my stomach.” Over time, I gained knowledge about the foods could I eat, which not only made life easier but also sparked my passion for nutrition.


From Struggles to Strength

As I grew up, my relationship with food transformed. What started as a confusing and isolating experience became a source of empowerment. My journey helped me discover how food can nourish, heal, and connect us, which inspired me to pursue a career as a Registered Dietitian.

Now, I love teaching others about food—whether it’s helping people embrace a new eating lifestyle or navigating a food allergy. No one should feel isolated or embarrassed about how they eat, and I’m here to help others build confidence in their relationship with food.


The Timeless Plate Project

As a new mom, my relationship with food has grown yet again. I’m excited to introduce my son to all kinds of flavors, textures, and foods—even within the gluten-free framework I follow. For me, food is a way to show love, build memories, and take care of my family. That’s why I started The Timeless Plate Project—to share my journey and, hopefully, inspire others to make cooking at home a rewarding experience.

Each week, I make a meal plan for my family. I create grocery lists and find ways to make meals that are affordable, convenient, and delicious. I believe that home-cooked meals can be all three—and that with a little planning, anyone can create meals that work for their lifestyle.
